Centro Cultural Macedonia
Eight friends founded a co-op where everything is decided in assembly and built collectively. Everything but one thing: ticketing, which lived on Passline. It was the last piece left to self-manage — and reclaiming it grew sales 42%.

Die Herausforderung
Macedonia is not a cultural center with an owner: it's a worker cooperative that eight friends dreamed up in 2015 and built in 2018 in Almagro, under a motto that doubles as a manifesto — "everything, for everyone." Its dance floor hosts some of Buenos Aires' most beloved queer milongas (La Marshall, La Milonga Amiga, Tangótica), aerial silks and acting workshops, ensembles and concerts. A project where every decision goes through the assembly and every peso sustains the space. But one piece contradicted the whole manifesto: tickets were sold through Passline, a commercial platform with someone else's brand, opaque fees for their audience and — most painful for a community project — the community itself piling up in a corporation's database. The co-op shared everything, except control of its own box office.
Die Lösung
Self-management finally reached ticketing: on their own site, with their logo, their tickets and their mailing, the co-op sells milongas, capacity-limited workshops and concerts with no third-party brand in between. The 3D reserved-seating map arranges the tables around the dance floor — because at a milonga it matters, a lot, where you watch the embrace from. AI marketing weaves the community together instead of fragmenting it: whoever went to La Marshall hears about Tangótica, whoever takes the silks workshop discovers the ensemble night, and abandoned carts come back on their own. An AI agent answers 96% of enquiries at any hour, leaving the human team — which here means the assembly — only what truly needs them. Since then, sales have grown 42%: the last piece of the collective project finally belongs to the collective.
